Kim Locklier

Kim is an accredited mental health social worker, qualified to provide a range of focussed psychological strategies (FPS) and evidenced based, therapeutic modalities to support the wellbeing, recovery and healing of adults and young people. Kim has worked in a range of clinical and non-clinical settings for over 15 years and is passionate about providing trauma-informed and client-centred care.

Having worked extensively with those healing from gender-based violence, Kim values trust and safety, and supports clients through a range of challenges including the impacts of trauma, mental health concerns, relationship difficulties, life transitions & adjustment and work-related stress including vicarious trauma, burnout and moral injury. Kim also provides clinical supervision to social workers and other allied health professionals.

Kim’s foundational approach to counselling is Schema Therapy (ST) but she also incorporates Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) into her therapeutic practice. Most importantly, she is able to work with you to determine what you want to get out of counselling and together, develop realistic, sustainable recovery goals.
